Welcome back to Wellness Wednesday! Today I am going to start something a little different. In addition to the weekly link-up, each Wellness Wednesday post will also include a few thoughts from me on a wellness-related issue. My co-hosts and I have decided to coordinate to bring you a new topic every month!
Since spiritual health is such an important aspect of wellness, this will be our topic for September. Today we’re each sharing our personal testimonies.
This is what Christ did for me.
He gave me a family who loved each other and who loved the Lord. My family took me to church, where I was amongst Christians who cared for my well being and wanted to see me grow up in the Lord.
When I was four, I asked Jesus to come into my heart and forgive me of my sins.
I remember that event vividly. I was on the scratchy black-and-white couch in the office next to my mom, who was having her devotions. I told her I wanted to become a Christian.
After we prayed together, she told me I should spend some time by myself in prayer, and then tell my sisters and my Dad. I went outside, crossing the wet morning grass to the picnic table, and climbed on top to pray.
I think I told my older sisters at breakfast, but my memories of that are fuzzier. My mom said that over the next few days, I asked a lot of questions about heaven and hell.
God has been showing His strange and gracious love to me before then and ever since. He has taught me many things about Himself and His church. He’s shown me that although this life allows nowhere near enough time to really understand how to glorify and enjoy Him, I have the adventure of an eternal heaven that will.
What has Christ done for you?
