Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cup dry corn grits
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup grated cheese
- 4 Tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed/ minced
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 3/4 tsp dry mustard
- 2 bratwursts, cooked and chopped
Instructions
-
Cook the grits according to the package directions in a pot or large saucepan. If you wish to add brats to the recipe, cook those while the grits are thickening.

With the hot, cooked grits on low, stir in the beaten eggs. They will cook in the hot grits.

Add cheese, butter, and spices, and stir well. Serve.
Recipe Notes
- The ingredients are approximations, so load up the cheese and garlic if you want more! You can substitute any ground, cooked sausage for the brats, or crumble cooked bacon over each serving.
- I like to use Real Salt for this recipe.

this was posted some years ago but I was wondering if you guys still eat grits and how does that mesh with gmo corn and all that. Not criticizing, I just wonder bc I loved grits before we started this journey and stopped eating them bc of that. I haven’t been able to find any organic grits and was wondering if you had or something.
Hi Rose! Yes, we do still eat grits on a regular basis. The brand Bob’s Red Mill makes some organic grits that you can buy in some grocery stores or online (here’s my affiliate link for the Amazon listing: http://amzn.to/2B85oJ0). We usually get this brand from our Publix or Big Lots grocery stores, but we don’t always get the organic version. There is also a couple in our church who own a mill and sell their own stone-ground, organic grits. Their grits are amazing! Here is their website: http://mcewenandsons.com/
