Somehow, it’s just rather satisfying to bring food into your home that was not purchased at Wal-Mart (or even, dare I say it, Meijer). Because if you didn’t get that food from Wal-Mart, it means you got it somewhere else. Somewhere more intriguing, like your very own secret garden, or an off-the-beaten-track produce stand, or the hole-in-the-wall ethnic market. And more often than not, that food was less expensive than the familiar packages crammed on grocery store shelves. This is what one might call a “win-win” situation, yes?
