Here is a recipe for hearty chef salad with a sweet honey mustard and sesame dressing. Eat this for a healthy meal salad that will energize you and keep you full!chef salad

Salad is energizing–it’s like the food version of a glass of water.

Just like water, though, salads sometimes get a bad rap for being boring. I’ll admit, I’ve eaten many a naked, unaccessorized salad simply because it was good for me. But bulk it up with chunks of juicy fruit, chopped walnuts, or cubed cheddar, and I scarf it down.

Chef salad is the perfect answer for a night when you need a meal that’s frugal but still hearty. And although there are many versions of chef salad, this slightly sweet incarnation was a total hit for us. Give it a try…

Ultimate Chef Salad

Servings 4 Servings

Ingredients

For the Salad:

  • lettuce for 4 people
  • 2 large apples
  • 2 oranges
  • 2-4 boiled eggs
  • 4 oz cheese cubed
  • 6-10 pieces salami

For the Dressing:

  • 1/4 cup mustard
  • 1/4 cup raw honey
  • 3 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Toss all of the salad ingredients together in a large bowl.
  2. Whisk together the dressing ingredients, adjusting amounts to taste. Store in the refrigerator.
  3. Just before serving, toss the salad and dressing together.
