We love having simple berries and cream for dessert. This little recipe was inspired by Peter Rabbit and our visit to Hilltop Farm, the home of Beatrix Potter.

Ingredients

  • 2 cup fresh berries
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • dark brown sugar or sucanat

Instructions

  1. Divide the berries between four broiler-safe ramekins, top with sour cream and sprinkle liberally with brown sugar.

  2. Broil for a couple of minutes until the sugar melts into the cream and the berries begin to release their juices.

Recipe Notes

  • If you don’t have ramekins, prepare in a small broiler-safe pan (so no Pyrex), and then dish into tea cups to serve.
  • You can purchase sucanat, a rich-tasting, less-processed brown sugar, online.
